Wine, of course
When you think of wine, do you think of Iowa? I certainly don't. Well, I didn't until I read this article. Is the United States on its way to becoming the next Italy? Will every state in the US soon have its own appellation? It might not be that far off. It seems that wine is getting more and more popular in the US. And not just consumption of California cabs, but up and coming producers from states that you'd least expect. Italy alone exports $25 billion US worth of wine to the US every year. At some of the tastings I've been to I've heard jokes that the US imports more Italian wine than Italy produces!
It is now every week that I read several articles about wine in the New York Times. Check out this one. All you need to do is read the first line, "Red Wine Ingredient Increases Endurance, Study Shows". More and more Americans are becoming concerned about their health and what they eat, and I think that the mass-produced foods which line supermarkets in the US will soon become a thing of the past. Is it possible that wine and cheese will replace beer and nachos during sports games? Hey, you never know. Here is another article about how red wine is good for you and how you should drink it everyday.
